Nigerian army's claim it was Lagos Government that asked for soldiers to be deployed to Lekki is of grave implication - Femi Fani-Kayode Former Minister of Aviation and chieftain of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted to the Nigerian army's claim of the Lagos state government inviting them to restore law and order.  In a tweet he shared, the former minister stated that the Nigerian army's disclosure has grave implications for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. According to Fani-Kayode, the Lagos state Governor has been thrown under the bus by the military.   FFK tweeted;  The @HQNigerianArmy  claim it was the LASG that asked for soldiers to be deployed at Lekki. The implications of this for  @jidesanwoolu  are grave. He has been thrown under the bus by the military.

  Senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity Garba Shehu on Monday took to social media to clarify his statement earlier in the day that 43 farmers who were gruesomely murdered by Boko Haram fighters on Saturday in Borno had no military clearance to resume farming, Igbere TV reports. Mr Shehu came under backlash after his statement in an interview on BBC. The counsel representing #EndSARS protesters before the Lagos State Panel of Judicial Inquiry probing the alleged shooting of the protesters by soldiers at the Lekki tollgate, Mr Adesina Ogunlana, has said his team has evidence to counter the claim by the Nigerian Army that there was no massacre or killings of protesters at the tollgate on the night of October 20. In response to a summons by the judicial panel, the Nigerian Army had on Friday filed its defence papers and listed three Brigadier Generals and one Lieutenant Colonel to testify before the panel. The army submitted to the panel statements on oath deposed to by the top military officers, who insisted that only blank ammunition were filed to disperse the protesters.
